We had a lovely short stay at Mayfield Cottage and it is in a great location to explore the beautiful area. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and also very quiet. We spent a large proportion of our time in the dining room when not out and about as it was the perfect place to admire the fab views. Good communication from Dave and the little extra treats were much appreciated by all of us (including Luca the lab). The cottage is pet friendly and garden is enclosed. Would highly recommend.

This is a gem of a place! From the moment you walk in, you feel like you are home. The feel of the place is so homely and is very clean, even though it allows dogs. Quite often, when we have stayed anywhere which allows dogs (which we need with our bouncy chocolate lab!), we have found the places a little unclean or uncared for. This was not the case at all here! A lot of thought and care has gone into this home and it was a great place for our few days in the hills. Dave was great with answering any questions we had leading up to our stay and there’s loads of information in the cottage about what to do in the local area. The walk along the river to St John’s Chapel is lovely and the cakes and coffee at Chatterbox Cafe are amazing! You can’t go wrong if you book this cottage.
